I've been planning on sleeping outside in this igloo I made during the snow storm (see Blizzard Sunday), adn decided that Monday would be the day I did. I woke up early, even though I didn't want to my body's mean and won't let me sleep past 8 or 9, and went out to work on the fort. You know, get it all ready for sleeping in and gather whatever supplies I'll need for the night. I laid out a tarp and a blanket then tossed in my sleeping bag, two flashlights, some candles and a couple lighters. Once I had the basic in I made a rudimentary door and left it. That took less than an hour. I spent the rest of the day waiting for it to be dark enough for me to go out and go to sleep. What did I do to pass the time? I sat on the couch and watched a marathon of Bunheads from like 10am until 6pm, that's all I did. Then I went to the Schlauderaffs and me and Shiloh sat on her couch watching a marathon of Castle. After about two hours of that I decided it was late enough and went home. I tossed on a sweatshirt, grabbed some books and junk food and headed out int o the night. It was a good night. I listened to music, read and actually got to spend time just laying down and thinking without either being yelled at or listening to other people yelling at each other. I couldn't really sleep though because Jake kept texting me and my mom kept calling and saying that it's too cold for me to be outside( it was only -13) or that it's going to cave in. Well neither of those happened and I'm still healthy. She woke me up at seven! I finally crawled out around eight and went to sleep on the couch for another couple of hours. That day, Tuesday, Jake and I had a date. It was going to start at 11am with all you can eat pancakes at Country Kitchen and I had planned some things for us. That did not happen. There was a change on his end and all we could do was go to a movie at four. I let him pick and he picked Safe Haven, side note: It's a good movie, but eh, it could've been better. I like his books more. So we watched that and that was all. After that I went to Ogle's, got some ingredients and made cupcakes and German chocolate cake for Max. Side note: Max is my friend who's a foreign exchange student from Germany and the cake made me think of him. Apparently I'm good at baking because everyone liked them. So ya!
Okay, this one really is going to be short. I don't really have much to say besides what's about to be said. So....read on! First off do you know what a triathlon is? Or what the Timberman triathlon is? You don't? Let me explain then. A triathlon is where you swim, bike, and run. You're timed in each event and your transition time (how long it takes you to go from one event to the next) also counts against you. The Timberman is a triathlon held in Grand Rapids MN. It has a long course (mile swim, 26.2 mile bike, and a 10K run. But don't quote me on the bike) and a sprint course (1/3 mile swim, 13.1 mile bike, and a 5K run, but don't quote me on the bike again). It's a fun event put on every year and draws a nice crowd of people from every age and fitness level. I did the short course and this is how it went: Swim The swim was by far my worst event. I did it in my sports bra and spandex shorts (last year I did it in normal shorts and nearly lost them!...
