FIRST SKI MEET OF THE SEASON!!

I'm just going to get right in it. It wasn't my best race. What I mean by that is that I did do pretty well considering, but mentally I wasn't in it. It pains me to say, but I actually gave up in the race. I've never done that before but I just couldn't go on. I don't know why it happened and I hope it doesn't happen again. Maybe I'm not ready for JNQ. I don't know, but it's best not to linger on such thoughts. Let's just move on and let me tell you how the team did.

So everyone is in agreement that the conditions weren't ideal, and none of us had our best race. There was a heavy snowfall right before the races and we all had to deal with a couple inches of powdery death. Thank goodness it was classic and not skate! Everyone was either slipping and sliding or stuck. Holly actually stopped and wiped off her skis a couple times! All in all, no fun for anyone.

On the brighter side of things Maggie and I took 9th and 8th respectively. Instead of receiving a ribbon and some kind of edible item, we were given a ribbon and a pretty sharp scraper. It was pretty cool and I still don't know whether to use it or just look at it. We also had Emma coming in at 11th, Jaylynne 16th, Holly 19th and Jorden 31st. The varsity girls team came in third overall, which we were proud of.

The boys varsity was led by Vasek in 10th, followed by Gus in 12th, Sam 22nd, Jake 25th, Hans 26th, Eddie 35th and Mac 43th. The boys landed a 4th place finish overall.

I would write more, but it's late and i think I got sick at the meet. So i need to go rest up!!

Have a good night and thank you for reading!

Fun?

I was invited to go to a party. By a senior. BOO-YA!! So Jake and I went. We all mat at the basketball game Side note: We won, after going into overtime and almost a second overtime! The boys  are now going on to either section finals or section quarters.  Then we all went bowling, which hurt my ankle, so that now this morning it's all in a fit. We bowled until 11pm and then went back to Sidney's house were Spencer asked Marly to prom! Aww. There was a huge banner and everything! Once things called down everyone  headed in for food, well Jake, Kali and I already had. Hehehee. How does Cathy manage to make everything taste so good? We played Dance Dance Revolution 4, messed with each other and ate food. Jake and I should never play Dance Dance. We're not the best and look awkward. The entire time I missed my "group", my close friends, the one's who know me, who I actually hang out with. I normally don't hang out with the people who were there, some of them ...

JNQ at Mt. Itasca

Yes, I did another JNQ race, and this time it was at home. The day before the race I had a high school one. It was our first (and only) pursuit of the season and man was it a sad one. Most of the time either couldn't make it or was sick. Maggie showed up and wound up just going home. The two of us went out to do a warm up/see the course ski and after the first hill she was dying. That weekend she had an uber high fever and was just sick. I went and did the first race and just had to puke the entire time. Afterwards I did wind up puking a couple of times, and decided that I just shouldn't do the second race. Even though I was sick Friday I still decided to race on Saturday.I did the women's 5k and think I did decently. It was a tough course, well mostly it was just a tough beginning. This is what we did; the right horseshoe into the swamp loop, up the switch back climbed all the way up the way, did a loop up top, went down part of bunny hill connected to the service road,...

I PROMISE I'M A GOOD WRITER!!

When you read my blog it  may seem that I suck at writing, but I really don't. I promise! I am actually a pretty decent writer, well at least when it comes to papers and essays. I just wanted to clear that up before telling you some news. The essay that I interviewed Matt Liebsch and Tad Elliott for has been graded and returned! I did a lot better than I thought, because after I turned it in I realized that one of my paragraphs on eating disorders could've been done better and that there were some areas where I could've worded things differently. I guess I'm just never fully satisfied when it comes to essays and papers. Anyways.... I wound up getting a 123 out of 125, and those two lost points where due to stupid mistakes in grammar. Not only did I receive  one of the highest grades in the class, but my professor wants me to enter it and my narrative into these two contests the college is doing!! I'm not sure if I'll enter into the narrative contest, but ...
